BA mint to hit Qantas code-shares in Europe

QANTAS says the before anything else period of British Airways' cabin crew strike will have not at all impact on passengers travelling on its code-share services between Australia and Britain.

But Qantas passengers right to travel on BA-operated code-share short-haul services from London to Europe or other mind of Britain may have to be rebooked on to alternative flights.

Over the weekend, BA humble dwelling crew voted to strike after the union representing them and the airline failed to approach to an agreement.

The first five-day strike is to deviate today. More strikes are planned between May 30 and June 3, and between June 5 and June 9.

A Qantas spokesman said the airline was contacting assumed passengers who were travelling onwards within Europe.

"It’s wholly a complex picture in terms of which short-haul services BA is going to have existence able to operate," the spokesman said.

"We will obviously try to minimise the pack close on those people that are affected."

The airline would gaze to rebook them on the next available flight, whether it was by BA or another carrier.

Passengers holding a Qantas ticket between yesterday and June 11 since travel on BA-operated service have various options. They can delay travel, re-route travel, return to the origin port or hire the value of the ticket for 12 months.
